Situated beside the footpath to the station there is a short length of 16mm scale (32mm gauge) track which is operated on Public Open Days by the 16mm Association, East of Scotland Group. This is a long established garden railway that is separate from the Perth Model Railway Group.
The track is not electrified as it supports 16mm Narrow Gauge live steam trains. The loco’s are gas fired and controlled by radio control.
Passengers awaiting rides at the station have a close up view of these trains in operation and the track is always popular with visitors. The members operating the trains are always happy to talk to visitors and give them more information on this fascinating branch of the hobby.
